How Nepal's fiscal year works
Nepal's fiscal year (आर्थिक वर्ष) begins on Shrawan 1 and ends on the last day of Ashadh the following year — so FY 2082/83 runs from Shrawan 1, 2082 BS to the end of Ashadh, 2083 BS.
A lot of yearly deadlines cluster around Ashadh end: MeroShare and DeMat renewals, annual tax filings and many government and office year-end tasks. Counting down to it helps you clear them before the fiscal year closes.
This countdown reads today's date in your browser and uses the same Bikram Sambat calendar data as the Nabikaran app, so the start and end dates stay exact.
Frequently asked questions
When does Nepal's fiscal year start and end?
+
It starts on Shrawan 1 and ends on the last day of Ashadh the next year. Ashadh has 31 or 32 days depending on the year, so the exact end date shifts slightly.
Why does Ashadh end matter?
+
Many annual renewals and filings — MeroShare, DeMat, taxes and office year-end work — fall due around the fiscal year close, so it's a date worth tracking.
Is this the same as the calendar new year?
+
No. The Bikram Sambat new year is Baisakh 1 (around mid-April). The fiscal year is a separate cycle that starts in Shrawan (around mid-July).
Don't let a year-end deadline slip.
Nabikaran tracks your MeroShare, DeMat and other yearly renewals, including Ashadh masanta dates, and reminds you before each one is due. Free, on Android.
